In 2013, Ukrainian wooden churches were added to the list of objects of cultural heritage of UNESCO. Ukraine together with Poland submitted to the international organization a list of sixteen churches - eight in the territory of each state. But the architectural style of all churches refer to the Ukrainian - Hutsul, Galician, Boykov and Lemkovskim, is written by the site vokrugsveta.ua.
1. Church of St. Jura, Drogobych
The temple was not always in Drogobych. It was transferred to the city from the village of Nadiev (Ivano-Frankivsk region) in 1656. The church was exchanged for salt. In those days the temple had to be transported by oxen. The belfry was built later - in 1678. For today, the interior murals of the church and the iconostasis of the 17th century are well preserved.
