Hours of heavy snowfalls have led to the fact that traffic on the roads stopped, power lines stopped working and people could not get home and work.
1. Chicago, United States, 1967
This snowfall was named "Blizzard of '67". During the day, 58 centimeters of snow fell down. The storm spread Midwest from Michigan to Indiana, Illinois. A record number of snow precipitations fell in Chicago. Blizzard claimed the lives of 76 people. Almost half of the victims were residents of Chicago.
